OBJECTIVE
I am seeking a growth-oriented position in communications. I want a job that provides the opportunity to use my skills as an editor, writer, website designer and communication specialist. My last job was as an editor for The Los Angeles Times, where I worked for thirteen years.
QUALIFICATIONS
I am a writer-editor with more than twenty years’ experience. I also have training in graphic design and a degree in mass communications with an emphasis on public relations.

I was responsible for designing appealing entertainment pages as well as generating story ideas, researching and editing for style, content and grammar. I have also, at various times in my career, been responsible for proof reading, writing crisp headlines, captions and decks. Many of my articles appear in major metropolitan newspapers. I worked as an editor in the news, features and business sections of the Herald Examiner.
1980-1983 The Tampa Tribune, editor
I was the first female editorial writer at the Tampa Tribune and also edited and designed the Op Ed pages and letters to the editor.
HONORS
Poetry: Two awards, including "Editors' Choice," 2005, from poetry.com.
Top of the Times: I received an award for redesigning the Kids’ Reading page in 2000.
Angel Award: I won an award in 1989 for a Religion article in The Los Angeles Herald Examiner.
